| Audio Book Description |
| Don Quixote-the world's first novel and by far the best-known book in Spanish literature-was originally intended by Cervantes as a satire on traditional popular ballads, yet he also parodied the romances of chivalry. By happy coincidence he produced one of the most entertaining adventure stories of all time. |

Adverntures is Maddness by Kerrye on October 22 2007
Many critics call this novel the first Western
novel because its attention is turned ‘inwards‘
to the self. Up untill this time novels
were ‘about‘ the world at large. Some even say it
is the first, ‘anti-novel‘, as the main character
is undone by reading tales of romantic chivalry
wherein all his actions untill the last chapter
are ‘demented‘. The Don is motivated by lofty yet
unrealizeable ideals. His fantasys transformed
into injury ( as well as thoes of his squire,
horse, et.al.) In the last chapter the insanity
ends when the ‘knight‘ begs pardon of his squire
for leading him to fall into the same error, that
of ‘beleving there are still knights errant in
the world‘. We‘ve just listened to hours of
adventure propounding that there are indeed such
knights and we too may be as ‘mad‘ as the Don.
Listen for yourself and ask these eternal
questions too.
