Audio books are recordings - of words rather than music. Most audio books are recorded readings of printed books, either complete (unabridged) or abridged. Other popular formats include stage plays, radio broadcasts, lectures, and audio theater.

Q What does DRM-free mean?   ^
DRM is the acronym for Digital Rights Management. DRM technologies attempt to control use of digital media by preventing access, copying or conversion by end users to other formats. DRM-free means that the MP3 books you purchase from Kitabe.com do not have any software restrictions.
 
Q Can I burn my DRM free audio books on a CD?   ^
Yes, the audio books you download from Kitabe.com can be burned to an MP3-CD or regular CD.
 
Q Why are the MP3 books in zipped format?   ^
An MP3 book file size varies from 60MB to 700MB with each chapter as an MP3 file. By compressing the audio book to zip format, members can download the entire audio book to one folder, unzip it and transfer to MP3 player.
 
Q How do I download MP3 Books from Kitabe.com   ^
Once the registration process is complete, click on the file to download. Save the file to a new folder by naming it as the title of the MP3 book. Once the download is complete, unzip the file and copy the files to MP3 player.
 
Q Is there a free trial for MP3 book download?   ^
Currently there is no free trial for MP3 Books to be downloaded.
 
Q Are the downloadable MP3 audio books iPod compatible?   ^
All our MP3 audio books are iPod compatible and can be added to iTunes directly to transfer to iPods.

You can join Kitabe.com by filling an online application. Payment can be made using a credit card. We accept American Express, Discover Card, Master Card & Visa. We do not accept personal checks. You can cancel your subscription any time you want, we have no contractual obligations.

We do not share our membership information to any partners or affiliates. Your password is the first step of security.  We use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) digital certificate to maintain the safety and privacy of your information. Q How does MP3 Download work?   ^
As a subscribed customer at Kitabe.com you will be able to download audio content. All our audio content is in MP3 format. Our audio files are in zipped (compressed) for ease of download. Customers need to save the files to a directory on their computer and unzip before transferring to a portable MP3 player.
 
Q How long does it take to download MP3 audio books?   ^
A. An MP3 audiobook content varies from 1 hour to 32 hours of audio. The download speed depends on the audio book length and the speed of your Internet Service Provider (ISP). For example, DSL providers often advertise speed of their service using a combination of two bandwidth numbers, "1.5 Mbps / 128 Kbps". The first number, 1.5 Mbps in this case, refers to the maximum bandwidth available for downloads. A single MP3 file 5MB in size will download in less than one minute on a typical broad-band Internet connection. Please check with your ISP for download speeds.
 
Q How many audiobooks can I download at a time?   ^
A registered member at Kitabe.com can download 10 audio books at a time. Customers who need more than 10 audio books can do multiple transactions.

Q Will the audio download play on my iPod?   ^
